Statement Analysis®

On-Demand Training For Attorneys

CLE Accredited in Most States

Earn your CLE credit hours by taking
this unique training on detecting deception.

Statement Analysis® is the most accurate way of determining if a person is being truthful. This is because people's words will betray them. This on-demand training is designed specifically for attorneys. It will show you what to listen for in a verbal statement and what to look for in a written statement in order to detect deception. These techniques can be used when examining a document, when interviewing a client or a potential witness and when cross-examining a witness in a legal proceeding.

The training is designed so you can proceed at your own pace. There are ten lessons and a review. At the end of each lesson, there is a short quiz you will have to take which will allow you to see if you understand the techniques taught in the lesson.

There are also eleven test statements for you to analyze. You can compare your analysis with a completed analysis. This will allow you to see how well you are grasping the techniques. For the final test statement, you will submit to me your analysis using an online form. I will review your analysis and provide you with some feedback.

After completing the training, you will be able to print a Certificate of Completion. You will also receive any additional information required in order to submit for CLE credit. If you have any questions while taking the training, there is a link on every page where you can contact me.

There are two objectives to this on-demand training.

1. Identify methods of analyzing a subject's verbal and written statement to detect deception.

As you listen to or read someone's statement you want to know if the person is being truthful. This is especially true if you are conducting an interview or questioning a witness. If the subject is misleading you and you do not realize this, you will have obtained very little information or perhaps bad information.

2. Learn how to recognize what a subject is telling you based on the language used.

There are several ways you can phrase a statement. People will always word their statement based on all their knowledge. Therefore, their statement may contain information they did not intend to share. By analyzing each word in a statement, you will be able to recognize exactly what a person is telling you and obtain additional information from their statement.

When you register for the training, you will create a username and password which will give you immediate access the training. Your username and password will be valid for six months (180 days). This will give you plenty of time to complete the course.

This training comes with a 48-page workbook that is located online. It is recommended that you print the pages of the workbook that corresponds with the lesson you are working on. Each page of the workbook has a "notes" section where you can write down some additional information or some of the examples listed online to help you remember the techniques.

The cost for the Statement Analysis® On-Demand Training For Attorneys is $125. You can pay online with a credit card through PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account in order to purchase the training. Click here to purchase the training or use the link in the left-hand column. If you have any questions that are not answered in the FAQ, please send me an email.

All of my training and studies have been in the United States. Therefore, this training is based on the English language as spoken in the United States. Cultural differences and phrases used in other English-speaking countries may have to be taken into consideration when analyzing a statement from someone outside the U.S. The majority of the techniques will apply no matter what language a person is speaking.
